We’re monitoring all Executive Orders by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee. While social gatherings are currently limited to 10 people, we do expect this restriction to be updated mid-May. So as of right now, we have decided to go forward with “Mountain Hounds LITE”. And of course, if the situation changes, we will update you accordingly!
This year, Mountain Hounds LITE will be a “Reduced-Activity Event” to allow attendees that are comfortable with traveling to get away for a few days in Gatlinburg:
* Hold as many outdoor activities as possible.
* No indoor seminars, or some of the other activities that we’ve had in previous years.
* Vending scaled back and taking place outside.
Because this is a reduced-activity event we are reducing our registration fee to $20 so that we can cover expenses:
* For new registrations: https://gfncmountainhounds.com/register/
* Already registered? We’ll refund the extra $15, credit you with additional raffle tickets, or accept the difference as a donation to help with our adoption efforts. Just email us your choice at [email protected]
Our goal is to have everyone that is healthy and able, join us in Gatlinburg, enjoy the company of friends—while observing social distancing guidelines—and relax with their pups. We are working out the details and will keep you posted.
We hope to see you soon and thank you for your continuing support!
The weather is beautiful, the greyhounds are lounging in the sunshine and you’re feeling the pull of a vacation but just can’t manage a week away. How about a mini-vacation for you and the dog? Just long enough to relax and enjoy the company of current friends and meet new friends. And of course it includes greyhounds…lots of greyhounds. Sound like fun? Then Mountain Hounds is the place to be.
This annual greyhound event is held in Gatlinburg, TN and is hosted by Greyhound Friends of NC. A four-day getaway that draws 300 people and over 300 greyhounds to the magnificent Great Smoky Mountains. The beautiful park where most events are held is a peaceful setting with the occasional ROO and lots of laughter. We have lots of fun in store for the greyhounds and for the humans too. Greyhound games, evening walks through town, surprise Bingo, vendors, and a silent auction to name just a few of the activities.
You will also enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the fun of Gatlinburg. Take in Anakeesta, the Aquarium, Ober Gatlinburg, Zip Line Tours or enjoy shopping the craft loop featuring local artisans. For info see the website at www.gfncmountainhounds.com or follow us on Facebook.
