Mountain Hounds 2012 stats I thought you might be interested to know:
Attendance:
Humans 298
Dogs 336
This is an increase over last year! People came from all accross the country and Canada this year. The list includes Ontario, Texas, Florida, the Midwest, Pennsylvania, and New York State to name a few! Once again, we filled up the Sidney James hotel. Our vendors and participants report they enjoyed the outdoor venue and we even saw a bear!!! ;) (who happened to be the mascot of a local ball team!)
Cindy Hanson, editor of Celebrating Greyhound magazine, attended the event and hosted a seminar. She also wrote about our event in the current CG magazine! All feedback we are reading on Facebook is very positive. We are in the process of compiling survey results too. As you can see, the work goes on even after the event.

The weather is beautiful, the greyhounds are lounging in the sunshine and you're feeling the pull of a vacation but just can't manage a week away. How about a mini-vacation for you and the dog? Just long enough to relax and enjoy the company of current friends and meet new friends. And of course it includes greyhounds....lots of greyhounds. Sound like fun? Then Mountain Hounds is the place to be. This annual greyhound event is held in Gatlinburg, TN and is hosted by Greyhound Friends of NC. A four-day getaway that draws 300 people and over 300 greyhounds to the magnificent Great Smoky Mountains. The beautiful park where most events are held is a peaceful setting with the occasional ROO and lots of laughter. We have lots of fun in store for the greyhoundds and for the humans too. Greyhound games, evening walks through town, surprise Bingo, vendors, a silent auction to name just a few of the activities. You will also enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the fun of Gatlinburg. Take in the Aquarium, Ober Gatlinburg, Zip Line Tours or enjoy shopping the craft loop featuring local artisans.
