Cinco de Mayo Open House
Purpose Statement
The purpose of this years Cinco de Mayo Open House is continuing development of
community awareness by focusing on two major aspects of Greyhound Friends of North
Carolinas Mission Statement. This years highlights are:
Health and Welfare
Educating the Public
Our mission is to rescue retired,
racing Greyhounds; provide for their health and welfare; educate the public about the
availability and desirability of greyhounds as pets; and place them through adoption into
loving homes.
Health and Welfare
On-going Veterinary Care
-
Greyhound Friends has a very proactive approach in caring for the needs of each dog. The health and
welfare of each dog comes first. The adoption fee does not cover the cost of each dogs
care. The kennel also experiences normal non-adoption care for the dogs on a routine
basis. Our Mission Statement charges GFNC with providing for the health care and welfare
of each dog. This is an on-going process that will always be a part of our efforts and
needed as long as there are greyhounds to rescue.
