The Home Again Microchip is partnering with our adoption program.
Effectively  May 5, 2007 at Open House Celebration, GFNC has added a safe guard to our adoption package that makes Microchip part of the adoption cost, $30.00 on each and every greyhound adopted and the cost of Lifetime registration $19.99 paid upon completion of adoption contract.  GFNC will chip each greyhound and automatically process the registration form in each greyhound adopted.  This assure that each greyhound has 24/7 reliable on-call information available, name phone, address, phone number and any medical information . If lost they call 888-466-3242 at any shelter, veterinarian  or emergency clinic at the swap of a scanner and returns your lost pet.   As back up, GFNC has our own database to view to help locate a lost greyhound.
We also have the paperwork to transfer a prior owner to your names.

 A LIFETIME COMMITMENT

Adopting a greyhound is a serious commitment, and we regard each adoption as an adoption for the lifetime of that dog. For this reason, we encourage people to think seriously before they make such a commitment. However, we also recognize that sometimes circumstances such as serious illness or death in the family will render people unable to honor their commitment to their adopted greyhound.

Under such circumstances, and in order to provide the best care for our greyhounds, our adoption contract requires that the dog be returned to Greyhound Friends of North Carolina so that we can find a new home for it and educate its new owners about the care it requires.

Thank you for your interest in adopting a greyhound. We hope this information will encourage you to visit our kennel.

Help by being a Sponsor

So you can't adopt a greyhound but still want to help? Become a Sponsor by pledging a minimum of $10.00 as a monthly donation on behalf of the greyhound of your choice. Your pledge allows you to help with the costs for one of the hounds while he/she is waiting for adoption.

Sponsorship is a wonderful way for for school classrooms, retirement home residents, and others who can't physically adopt a greyhound of their own to participate fully in our rescue and adoption effort. Just $10 dollars a month sponsorship for each dog would be a tremendous help to keep GNFC finding homes for retired racers and educating the public about these wonderful dogs. Our adoption fees help to cover the basic medical requirement for adoptive placement; spay/neuter, shots, teeth cleaning, worming, etc. As a non-profit organization, we rely on your donations to feed and house the greyhounds and to cover the costs of medical expenses beyond the norm.
All donations are tax deductible; we are a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization.
