VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION

LETTER TO ALL VOLUNTEERS OF GFNC

The Board of Directors of Greyhound Friends meets regularly to plan
for the future health and growth of our organization. At a recent
meeting, discussion was focused on how essential our volunteers are
to the well being of GFNC. What happens, all too many times at groups
like ours, contributions from volunteers are known and understood but
seldom recognized. It is extremely important that we take that step
and formally thank each and every one of you for your help and
assistance over the years.

There are no glamorous jobs at a rescue group. We know you do what
you do because of your love for the greyhounds entrusted into our
care. You complete your responsibilities with the knowledge you have
helped these special dogs find their forever family. For that the
Board and the greyhounds are extremely grateful. Very simply, without
your efforts Greyhound Friends could not survive.

We want to do a bit more for our volunteers. Beginning July 1st, GFNC
will hold a monthly drawing just for the volunteers including our
satellites, for a $25 gift card to a retailer such as Petsmart,
Petco, etc. Each day volunteered during the month will entitle the
volunteer to one entry in the drawing. Volunteer one day, get one
entry. Volunteer four days, get four entries. The drawing will be
held the first Saturday of the next month. Make sure Blanche Fedor
knows the days that you volunteer so the correct number of entries
can be registered. A winner may be eligible to win again after six
months. We also will hold an annual drawing with a $100 award at the
end of the year.

While this drawing will not compete with the NC lottery, it is our
small way of saying thank you to the many men and women who give so
generously of time and heart. You are indeed our most important
resource.
